“Their actions are good but their fruit are bad. When a Christian loves his neighbor in the same way God loves him (as he is); when a Christian is patient with the faults of others; when he realizes that sanctity of life takes time and that each fall demands rising to greater heights; when a Christian has joy of heart you can accept anything that life gives him with serenity of soul; when he has unbounded confidence in His Father’s love for him- this is bearing fruit. A man and a wonam will be known by their fruit. A pagan must see the Father in you so that he can believe that the Father sent me and I sent you.”~Jesus
I am reading this book by Mother Angelica, It is called “Private and Pithy Lessons from the Scriptures”. And I came across this one lesson on “Bearing Fruit”, and she was explaining what Jesus would say to her when she asked “How do I know a Good Christian from a bad one?”
When I was going through my Confirmation Journey, I came to realize that I have to be a REAL Christian and BEAR FRUIT! Because being Confirmed is a BIG deal… When you really think about it, it is just as big as getting Married!!! Because you have just as large of a comitment. You are practically married to your Church… You are bound to Her FOR LIFE.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
